TYPE OF DATA PROCESSED

In order for you to subscribe to our newsletter, or to receive information from Consulates and Cultural Institutes in the United States (hereinafter "Services"), the Data Controller needs to know and treat some of your personal data such as, for example (but not limited to), your full name and e-mail address (hereinafter "data”).

If you wish to merely browse the website, please review the following information regarding the types of data processed and specific information on so-called "cookies".

NAVIGATION DATA

The computer and software systems used to operate this Website acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data the transmission of which is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols.

This information is not collected specifically to be associated to identified data subjects but, because of its very nature, could - by means of processing and integration with data held by third parties - allow to identify users.

This category includes the IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users to connect to the Website, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in reply, the numerical code indicating the status of the reply provided by the server (done, error, etc.) and other parameters concerning the user operating system and computer environment.

PURPOSE AND METHODS OF TREATMENT

The Data Controller only comes into possession of the personal data you supplied while browsing the Internet, or using the services offered by the Data Controller. Your data will be used exclusively to allow you to benefit from the services offered by the Data Controller through this site and, if you give your direct consent, to receive information from the Italian Embassy, Consulates and Cultural Institutes in the USA.

Data will be collected by “Italy in US” directly from your person and will be kept for a period not exceeding the purposes for which the data was collected and subsequently processed.

Personal data processing will be carried out primarily, although not exclusively, by electronic or computerized instruments, in strict compliance with the minimum security measures envisaged by the Technical Regulations on minimum security measures - Annex B of the Privacy Code, and exclusively for the purposes mentioned above.

Your data may be stored on computer media - paper and on any other type of appropriate support - for processing and will be kept a period not exceeding the purposes for which the data was collected.

OPTIONAL PROVISION OF DATA

Providing your personal data for the purposes related to the use of services offered by “Italy in US” is optional, but your refusal to provide any of the requested data, or any incomplete transfer or untruth of the same, could lead to the impossibility, for “Italy in US”, to provide the services you requested.

SUBJECTS TO WHOM DATA MAY BE DISCLOSED

Personal data will not be diffused. The following third parties may however have access to your data, in compliance with the above-mentioned purposes.

  • Third parties that can access the data under the provisions of the law, international / community regulations, within the limits set by these rules;
  • Our employees, provided that they have been previously qualified as Data Managers or Data Supervisors, or as the System Administrators;
  • Those who perform, completely independently and as separate Data Controllers, or as dedicated External Data Processors specifically appointed by Italy in US, purposes ancillary to the activities and services provided, and/or the companies that provide support services and consultancy, as well as design and development of software and / or websites, postal, shipping and delivery agencies, law firms, companies or consultants engaged to provide specific services to the data controller, always within the limits of the purposes for which the data was collected.

Furthermore, any transfer or communication of such data shall occur in compliance with legal provisions concerning the protection of personal data, including those relating to the minimum security measures.

RIGHT TO ACCESS PERSONAL DATA AND OTHER RIGHTS

Pursuant to Art. 7 of the Italian Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 - "Personal Data Protection Code", and in relation to the processing of your personal data, as an interested party you have the right at any time to obtain confirmation of the existence or otherwise of such data, and to know its content and origin, verify its accuracy or request its integration, updating, or correction. At the same time, and in accordance with the same Article, you have the right to request the cancellation, transformation into an anonymous form, or blocking of unlawfully processed data and, for legitimate reasons, to oppose its processing.
